Onimusha for the PS2 is one of the best if not the best PS2 games I played so far. If you enjoyed the Resident Evil games then you shouldn't miss out on this one. Graphically it is unrivaled and the background scenery is gorgeous. The control is easier and friendlier than the other Resident Evil games; it has to be since you play as a sword wielding samurai who must slash through hordes of demon warriors and ninjas. Yeah it's like Resident Evil in the sense you must solve puzzles and explore areas and mazes but instead of fighting slow ass zombies you're always up against quick ninjas and gigantic axe throwing bosses (I mean HUGE) so you need to be fast; also unlike the zombies who never reappear once you exterminated them, the enemies ALWAYS come back to battle if you reenter areas you conquered. It also pays to kill the enemies coz you can absorb their souls into your sword which can also level up. You can also perform killer combos with your sword and as you progress to the game you collect different elemental orbs such as thunder, fire, wind etc. that you can combine with your sword attacks. The cinemas are very dramatic, horrific and moving and the voice acting is actually very good...it makes you feel as tho you are the character, like a dream and thus the fun factor increases. I don't want to spoil the plot but basically you play as a noble samurai who pledges no allegiance to any lord but he fights because he wants to save the "princess" and destroy the demon warlord...He was chosen by the ancient spirits (they gave him the power) to put evil back where they belong...in hell. So far the only drawback I can think of is that it is only 1 player and the gore consists primarily of blood baths not really disemboweling or decapitation(not that I know of). But other than that WOW!
I don't know why, but one day it will all make sense."Visualize the Yin and the Yang and the battle so intense that we get them confused"- Outkast
